Cynthia E. Gray RN, AP is the owner of The Health and Healing Center of Ocala.  She has been in practice since 2001, after graduating from the Florida School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  Cynthia is board certified in Acupuncture, Chinese herbs and Oriental Medicine.  She has received advanced education and certification in the treatment of patients with Cancer and Hepatitis C.  In 2002, she completed the masters course in pulse diagnosis with Leon Hammer, M.D.  Cynthia studied Classical Chinese Medicine for 14 years with Dr. Viet Tran.  She has a special interest in treating patients with cancer and women with infertility.

Cynthia is a founding member of Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine.  She served on their governing board from 2001 to 2014.

Robyn Raftis AP graduated from the University of North Florida with a bachelor of science in health in 2004.  She then attended Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine in Gainesville, Florida, graduating in 2008 with a second bachelors in health science and a master’s in oriental medicine.  Through her studies at Dragon Rises, she received extensive training in Chinese pulse diagnosis.  Robyn has experience treating various  pain disorders, digestive dysfunction, women’s issues and mental/emotional disorders.  She has particular interest in dietary and nutritional therapies.  Robyn has been in practice at The Health and Healing Center since early 2009.

Sandra L. Pecinovsky RN, AP holds a BSN in Nursing from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.  She has 28 years of clinical experience in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Critical Care Nursing.  She has a master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Dragon Rises College and is board certified in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs and Oriental Medicine.  Sandra completed a 1200 hr course in acupressure, Tui Na and Shiatsu in 1999 from the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, California and also attended a Tui Na course in Beijing China in 2000.  She has trained extensively in several energetic healing modalities including, Healing Touch, Therapeutic Touch, Jin Shin Jyutsu and Rekii.  Sandra continues advanced Pulse studies with Dr. Leon Hammer and Classical Chinese Acupuncture with Dr. Viet Tran.

Dr. Sarah Sangi graduated in 1990 from Volgograd School of Medicine in Russia.  Sarah worked in Mongolia 1990-1999 as a Pediatrician.  In 1991, Sarah was introduced to Oriental Medicine and completed an advanced training course in acupuncture.   In 1997, she undertook a Master’s degree specializing in Pediatric Nephrology. 

Moving to Florida in 2011, Dr. Sangi entered into a Master’s degree program at Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine in Gainesville, FL, graduating in 2015.

Sarah opened an acupuncture practice in Lady Lake in 2016.  She joined  The Health and Healing Center of Ocala, part-time in February 2019.

Sarah speaks 5 languages – Russian, English, Korean, Mongolian and Czech.

 Meet the newest members of our staff!

Cooper is a 3 year old Silver Labrador who enjoys giving love just as much as receiving it. He may be big but he is a gentle, old soul. Don’t be surprised to hear a little snoring out of him though!

Ruby is our 1 year old Australian Terrier. She is small in stature but not in personality! She’s full of character but also full of love.

Both take their roles here as therapy dogs quite seriously and seem to know just what our patients need!
